Stripes

Image
I'm not quite tired of making stripes and it's a good thing. I have not even made a dent in all of my remnant yarn. I'm thinking of using up all my various pink yarns for the next afghan I do.

Slow But Sure

After many attempts over many years to get this quilt finished I'm finally on the second to the last step. Last Saturday Janet and I attempted to use the "long-arm" to quilt the flimsy to the back and to the batting. We got stuck a few times because the tension seemed a bit off and had to unpick a lot of wonky stitches. But I think she figured it out. Anyway, we successfully made the first pass of five across the quilt. It was very late so went to bed hoping that the next pass over would be more successful. We will soon see!

Finishing Up

Image
So I did manage to finish the un-wallaby. Soaking it in vinegar and water helped to soften it up. I used one of those almost crunchy yarns and it's not my favorite. And also almost finish the scrappy blanket. The temperature afghan is up to date so today I'll work on the border of the Scrappy afghan and weave in all the loose ends.

Temperature Blanket - January

Image
We left home on the second of January for California and I still managed to get my blanket up to date even though I didn't work on it for the whole trip! It's not hard when you only do a square for each day. I'm really liking it so far but that's because I like blue and all the squares have some shade of blue. The premise of the blanket is that the colors reflect two degree increments of temperature. The inside round is the lowest temperature for the day. The second round reflects the highest temperature of the day. All squares are finished off with a third round of silver. For your reference: All in Celcius
